ENERGY SAVING FAN (EC FAN)

AirQvent are committed to energy saving by improving energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings as per the requirements in the Building Codes of Australia (BCA). In the coming years there will be a significant increase in the energy efficiency requirements for all new commercial buildings and a 6 star energy rating, or equivalent, for new residential buildings. Our suppliers in Australia have for the past few years, been sourcing new technologies in order to increase product efficiencies and conform to the new legislation governing building energy efficiency. Our European suppliers have already been incorporating these new techniques for many years and have substantial knowledge and understanding of the many technologies available, some of which are outlined below:

EC Fans

EC technology is intelligent technology and EC fans are generally recognised as being the latest thing in energy efficient air movement technology. EC stands for Electronically Commutated which basically means it’s a fan with a brushless DC motor. The motors use integral electronic control which eliminates the slip losses and ensures that the motor always runs at optimal load. This guarantees that the proportion of energy utilised effectively is many times higher and energy consumption considerably lower compared with AC motors.

EC fans are notable for their economical energy consumption and excellent ease of control. They can be varied in speed to match the airflow demand, and operate at high efficiency levels for the same air volume. Even when operating at part-load, the loss of efficiency is very much lower than with an asynchronous motor of equivalent output. Another pro-environmental aspect relevant to air supply and air conditioning equipment in particular is the noise level. Here too, the advantage is with the EC-motor, which runs noiselessly in a controlled operating condition.

Low Wattage

A new range of low wattage fans for residential and commercial applications are available which can guarantee a reduced energy consumption of up to 60% compared to conventional ventilation systems. The fans are designed to combine high performance and unobtrusive installation. They are the perfect choice for efficient ventilation in those environments where aesthetics, space or noise levels are of concern.
