Roof Mounted Fans
Roof mounted fans are predominantly used to pull, rather than push, unwanted air out of a system or space. They are useful when fan location below roof level is impractical and they ensure a greater distance from noise source to recipient which can be important in particularly loud applications. Standard models are available as either Vertical discharge or horizontal side exit supply or discharge. Horizontal models can be used as a supply fan by changing the direction of the impellor in the casing so that fresh air is drawn into the system or space. Roof mounted units can be supplied as [Centrifugal] or [Axial] impeller models and are manufactured with a fully weatherproof galvanised steel housing on vertical units and either galvanised steel or plastic cowl on the horizontal units depending on the model selected. [Special Units] can be supplied for hazardous areas, high temperature applications, and smoke spill units which comply with legislative requirements. [Twin units] incorporating a duty and standby motor are quite common for toilet exhaust systems in Western Australia and [Kitchen] Fans are available for applications with or without a grease trap connection and with or without the motor outside of the air-stream.
